Business Diagnostic for Singapore SMEs
You built a business
that works.
But it can't work
without you.
I help Singapore SME owners find out what is actually holding the business back — across cash flow, operations, strategy, and team — before they spend on the wrong fix.
What owners think is wrong —
and what I often find
People understand faster through examples than definitions.
We need more sales.
The problem was margin leakage and operational strain.
We need to hire.
Hiring first would have added cost without removing the bottleneck.
We need financing.
The first fix was operational and financial discipline, not more borrowing.
How I look at a business
I don't look at one symptom in isolation. I read the business across four connected areas.
Financial Health
Cash flow, margins, debt load — and what the numbers are actually saying, not what they appear to say.
- Cash flow vs. P&L gaps
- Margin structure and trajectory
- Debt-to-revenue and repayment load
Operational Maturity
How work gets done, where the business depends on the owner, and where things break under pressure.
- Process documentation
- Key-person dependencies
- Delivery consistency and failure modes
Strategic Positioning
Whether the business is competing in the right way, with the right customers, at the right price.
- Differentiation clarity
- Customer concentration risk
- Pricing and margin logic
Organisational Capability
Whether the structure, people, and decision-making can support the next stage — or will break under it.
- Team capability gaps
- Owner leverage and delegation
- Decision-making structure
What this helps you see
Not a score. Not a dashboard. A clear answer to what matters most.
What the real constraint is
Not the most visible problem — the one that is actually limiting the business.
What it is costing you
In revenue, margin, time, and risk — made visible, not guessed.
What needs to happen first
Not a list of twenty things. The one move that changes the position.
Whether deeper support is justified
If so, what kind — and whether I am the right person to provide it.
How it works
No phase names. No jargon. Just what actually happens.
Start with a conversation
I understand what is happening, what feels urgent, and what decisions are being considered. No pitch. No package. Just an honest first read.
I assess what is actually going on
I look across the business — not just the visible symptom. Financial health, operations, strategy, and organisational structure.
You get clarity on what matters most
You leave with a clearer picture of the real constraint, what it is costing, and what the next move should be.
If deeper support would help, I'll say so
If it would genuinely help, I'll outline what that could look like. If I'm not the right fit, I'll say that too. No automatic next step.

Why I built this
For 13 years, I sat on the other side of the table.
I worked in banking, M&A, credit advisory, and Singapore's SME ecosystem. I learned how lenders read risk, how buyers assess business value, and why so many business problems show up in the numbers long before owners call them by name.
What I kept seeing was the same mistake: smart owners making major decisions without a clear diagnosis of what was actually wrong. Not because they weren't capable. Because they were too close to it.
That is what Fluffless Finance exists to fix.
"The brutal truth is the kindest thing I can give you."
Most SME owners don't have a strategy problem.
They have a diagnosis problem.

Cash flow problem or margin problem?
They look the same from the outside. They require opposite fixes. Here is how to tell them apart.
